We Believe Weddings Should Start with a Focus on People
A wedding is a day where family and friends from all over come together to celebrate the creation of a new family. It can also come with pressure to invite enough people to fill a yearbook, book an entire museum, design a hotel ballroom, sign up for a magazine photoshoot, and bring in both a classical ensamble and a cover band. Oh and have a celebrity chef build a fine dining restaurant in a back alley.
If that's you and you're funding it with the proceeds from selling your tech company or running your media empire, then that's fantastic. We're more than happy to help you create a memorable experience for your friends and family.
For so many, however, the pressure to try to take on too much finds them with a long list of people they've never heard of, a limited number of venues with the space to hold everyone, and a frightening number of unplanned-for items that come at a substantial per-person cost from that venue or planner's exclusive partners. Is that pressure and stress necessary?
For couples that are finding this stressful and feeling like they need to cut corners due to budget we ask them to consider:
- a more intimate guest list with a timeline that allows them to enjoy each person more
- a format or menu that may be a bit more casual and thereby reduce requirements
- a venue that may require less customization and rental equipment
We find that our happiest post-wedding couples really enjoyed sharing a few stories or inside jokes with their wedding guests that were featured over the night. They enjoyed finding a really interesting invitation or favor that would frame the beginning and end for their guests. They enjoyed the stories told by the people who got up to speak, that may have involved some good natured ribbing. They enjoyed meeting or catching up with family, friends, and family friends in the receiving line... and seeing their moves on the dance floor (who knew Uncle Jack could swing Aunt Marge like that?). They cherish the feeling of being loved and supported by a group that came there just to celebrate them.

- At-Home Wedding:We love when brides want to get married at home! Worried about space? We have a ton of experience designing and executing some really beautiful home weddings. From setting up kitchens outdoors to ensuring you have enough power – we know what it takes to ensure a beautifully flawless home wedding
- Outdoors Wedding (Beach, Park):While we aren't a planner and there is some permitting work that may be involved, we're happy to help you throw a unique event in an outdoor space. Let us know what you're thinking!
- Wedding Venue of your Choosing:Have a specific venue in mind? We will arrange a site visit with you and the venue contact to ensure we understand what is required to work at that venue and we will collaborate with them to ensure no detail is missed
- Need a Venue? We can Help!: We have relationships with a number of wedding venues in the LA area – from modern urban retreats to beautiful homes and estates overlooking ocean views or gorgeous vineyards. Custom Tastings
Your custom event menu tasting is an event in and of itself and we put a lot of work into it. We often have to get custom elements right including testing them against your requirements and thinking through how your items will work in the field or at your venue. We therefore charge accordingly. You should feel confident that what you select at your tasting is how it will be (adjusted for feedback) on the day of your event for the relevant guest count.
Group Tastings
Ask about upcoming tasting days at our venues. While you will not get your specific menu, you can try a variety of some of our most popular items
Pickup Tasting
If ordering off our a la carte menu, we may be able to put a number of the items of interest together as a pickup tasting for you. Please ask your contact for details.
Dietary Preferences
Most groups have a normal distribution of dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarians, vegans are the most common with gluten-free by preference in the mix). We generally recommend pocket options for a mixed crowd... obviously you know your guests and so if you know how many people you have then we can adjust accordingly. By adding items like say a jackfruit slider, everyone has an enjoyable option and guests who prefer these items can select them out of the mix. Alternatively, if there is a significant number of guests wanting those items, we can certainly supply menus with labeled items or create a separate display with groupings of the items relevant to their concerns.
Dietary Allergies/ Religious Requirements
These include serious allergies (e.g., nut allergies, gluten intolerance), food affected conditions (e.g., diabetes, congestive heart failure), or religious requirements (e.g., kosher, halal). We would note that we are not a specialist and that all of our items will have some level of cross-contamination in our kitchen. Our recommendation is that you ask these guests to bring or order special meals or services that are known to meet their specific requirements. And in the case of people affected by nearby items (e.g., severe nut allergies) that they stay in areas distanced from our food/ service to prevent any accidental exposure.
